PREFER CHAPEL ATTENDANCE TO LOSS OF STAR ATHLETES

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

HARTFORD, CONN., December 7--The campaign of the student body at Trinity College against the recent ruling of the board of trustees compelling attendance at chapel collapsed yesterday when it was discovered that several star athletes would be lost to their respective teams if the undergraduate resistance continued. On Wednesday the undergraduates declared that they would suffer suspension rather than violate their ethical principles by accepting enforced attendance at religious services. In order to save these athletes a mass meeting of the undergraduate body was held, at which it was voted to rescind the vote of resistance taken on Monday. While the leaders of the movement do not admit, that their cause is lost, they have decided to abandon their resistance until the entire student body can support the movement.
