Invitations have been extended by the Athletic Association to Joie Ray, J. W. (Jake) Driscoll and several other prominent sprint and distance runners to compete in the open handicap track meet held under the auspices of the H. A. A. on June 9 at Soldiers Field. Ray, who is the National amateur mile champion and one of the greatest distance runners in the world, is now representing the Illinois Athletic Club. Driscoll is a former Boston College track star and National quarter-mile champion. He is now wearing the colors of the Boston Athletic Association. The main events of the meet will be the special mile, quarter-mile, and 100-yard dash.
