PRESIDENT HIBBEN PRAISES INTRAMURAL ATHLETICS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Princeton, N. J., January 20.--"More than 90 per cent of the students of Princeton University are taking part in various forms of competitive athletics." This statement was made by President Hibben of Princeton in his annual report yesterday to the board of trustees in which he discussed at some length the subject of intramural athletics.

President Hibben, after describing the remarkable growth of participation in such sports, stated that it was due in large measure to the Intercollegiate Athletic Association, which has been principally responsible for the creation and direction of the system.

"There is no other instance known," he said, "in which undergraduates acting on their own initiative have organized and maintained such an organization for the purpose of promoting Athletic competition among those who are not candidates for athletic teams."
