CONTEST FOR BOK PRIZES CLOSES NEXT FRIDAY

AIM TO RAISE STANDARDS OF ADVERTISING

The competition for the Harvard Advertising Awards founded by Mr. Edward W. Bok will close on October 10 it was announced last night by Dean Wallace B. Donham '98, Dean of the University School of Business Administration. These awards will be given by a jury of advertising experts who have been chosen by Dean Donham.

There are three classifications to the Bok Awards: A gold medal will be given to the individual who, in the opinion of the jury, has done most to raise the standards of advertising; a second group of three awards carrying prizes of $1500 each will go to the best research during the year; and a third group of awards carrying prizes of $1000 each will be given for individual advertisements.

In announcing the date of the close of the competition this year Dean Donham said that in view of the economic importance of advertising, and the great amounts of money spent on it, the Harvard Business School welcomed the opportunity to cooperate with Mr. Bok in this an endeavor to arrive at standards of advertising, a knowledge of which cannot fail to benefit all advertisers.
