Reclaim Marsh Land at Soldiers Field

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Soldiers Field is humming with activities other than athletic. The marsh land west of the tennis courts is fast being reclaimed. This section of about 14 acres in area, when thoroughly drained, centered, and graded, will help relieve the cramped conditions of Soldiers Field. The authorities have no definite plan in view yet, but room for a baseball diamond and football field is especially needed.

Workmen are also busy at the annual task of laying the board track and tearing down the wooden stands of the Stadium. The track will be ready for Coach Farrell's charges on Monday. It appears in fast condition, although the corners already show wear from only two years' use. The 20 men on the wooden stands will be occupied all winter in demolishing the work which took from June to November to complete.
