Two University debating teams will open the Eastern Intercollegiate Debating League season here tonight, when the affirmative team tackles the Brown debaters at 8.15 o'clock in Paine Hall and the negative team opposes Amherst at Amherst, both on the question, "Resolved: That the formation of a third major political party would advance the cause of representative government in the United States."
Notables To Act As Judges
The University team that will debate Brown will be E. G. Wesson '25, A. F. Reel '28, E. J. Metzdorf '26, and Barrett Williams '28, alternate. Their opponents will be F. K. Singiser Jr., G. C. Hudson, and J. M. Jacobson. The judges of the Paine Hall discussion will be Judge G. W. Anderson of the United States District Court, President J. A. Cousens of Tufts College, and J. T. Pugh '01 of Cambridge.
D. W. Chapman Jr. '27, W. S. Stone '26, R. A. Barton '25, and E. M. Littell '26, alternate, of the University, will debate with E. S. Noble, C. L. Israels, and W. L. Parker, who comprise the Amherst team.
