As a result of the Class B squash matches on Saturday, the University team has definitely settled its claim to the championship title. With the four to one defeat of the Lincoln's Inn Society, Harvard now has a seven point lead over the Union Boat Club, its nearest rival, and only five more matches to play in the tournament. Any losses will not affect the Crimson's standing.
J. D. DuBois '24 was the only man of the Harvard team to lose his match, dropping it to W. B. Mclivaine after a snappy contest 15-11, 10-15, 15-13, 16-14. It is expected that these two men will be close rivals in the Class B state tournament which begins next Monday.
The Freshman team won from the B. A. A. 3-2. In spite of this victory, the first year men are still at the bottom of the club list.
The state tournament enters the fourth round today. As a result of the match on Saturday in which Carroll Harringion '24 defeated C. J. Lennihan 15-6, 15-6, 16-12 the winner will meet W. P. Diron '26 on court 14 at 4 o'clock this afternoon. K. Church of the Newton Centre Squash and Tennis Club will oppose Myles Baker of the B. A. A. at 5 o'clock on the same court.
