Clouds of smoke pouring from the windows on, the second floor of the Signet Club brought the fire department to the seene about 11 o'clock last night. Closer investigation disclosed the fact that a defective furnace was causing the trouble, thus disappointing a crowd of about 100 students which had quickly congregated around the corner of Dunster and Mt. Auburn streets.
