Massachusetts Hall, the oldest University building, will be restored to its original use as a college dormitory, it became known yesterday afternoon. Plans are still in an indefinite state, but it is reasonably certain that the actual work of renovation will begin this summer. Suites will be installed and in all probability the building will be used as a Senior dormitory.
Massachusetts Hall was built in 1720 as a dormitory. In recent years it has fallen into disuse, however, and at present it is confined chiefly to the use of college janitors, Yard police, and the 47 Workshop.
