The University tennis tournament is rapidly approaching its climax, and today or Monday will see the semi-final matches in the upper and lower halves of the draw. The final matches in each bracket will represent the semi-finals of the entire tournament, as the two winners must meet for the singles crown.
Alden Briggs 1G.B., one of the eight seeded players was the first player to reach the semi-final round in the upper draw. He had little trouble in putting out Stephen Thompson '27, at 6 0, 6 4. W. L. Coleman 3L. advanced to the fourth round by virtue of his unexpectedly easy victory over A. R. Allen '26 in straight sets. 6 1, 6 2.
P. M. Lenhart '27 put down J. D. DuBois 2L in two sets, 9-7, 6-1, after a stubbornly contested first set. J. F. W. Whitbeck '27 swept into the fourth round of the lower draw in straight love sets over A. G. D'Arey '26.
