FIFTEEN MEN CHOSEN FOR TENTATIVE SQUASH SQUAD

DEBEVOISE, RAWLINS, LENHART, WRIGHT ARE SEEDED

The choosing of a tentative University squad on the first day of the squash racquets season indicates that Coach Cowles is determined to cut his squad down to a working basis as fast as possible.

First round matches in the College tournament were in progress all yesterday afternoon, but as the seeded draw was employed, no feature matches were listed.

Fifteen men at present compose Coach Cowles' tentative squad. Elimination matches have been schedule between the members whose positions seem least sure, and they will play a round-robin affair to decide the future make-up of the squad.

Captain G. D. Debevoise '26, H. N. Rawlins '27, Captain of the 1927 team two years ago, P. M. Lenhart '27, number one on last year's Team B, and R. S. Wright '26 have been seeded in that order in the tournament. They, together with L. S. Haskins '26, P. R. Pease '26, and T. E. Jansen '26, have not been scheduled for elimination matches, and their position on the squad, for this week at least, is assured. The eight remaining members of the squad, J. I. Weismna '28, H. B. Jackson '27, L. H. Roots '26, G. H. Perkins '26, E. D. Pratt '27, J. L. Pool '28, R. G. Allen '26, and W. C. Peet Jr. '28, will play in the elimination round-robin.
