PETITIONS ADD THREE NAMES TO 1928 BALLOT

The Student Council Committee on Freshman Affairs announced last night the nomination by petition of three additional men for the Freshman class officers to be elected tomorrow. Rufus Horton Jones of Portland, Maine, has been nominated for vice-president, and the names of Daniel Bond Linscott of Woburn and of Robert Etheridge Gregg Jr. of West Newton have been added to the list of nominees for secretary-treasurer.

Voters Must Sign Ballots

Every voter in the Freshman elections must sign his ballot, according to announcement made by J. R. Burke '27, chairman of the elections. This ruling is made in order that the Freshmen may have the convenience of having more than one poll open at the same time. The signatures will be regarded as strictly confidential.

The committee, emphasizing again that at least 60 per cent of the class must vote in order to make the election valid, outlined the rules of the preferential system of voting, which is to be used in the election as follows:

"Each voter will indicate his order of preference for all the candidates for each office. A first choice shall count one, a second, two, and so on. The candidate receiving the lowest numerical total shall be declared elected. Any ballot on which all the candidates for any office have not been voted upon shall be declared invalid for that office."
