In an exciting ten-minute overtime period the University lacrosse team defeated Princeton 2 to 1 at Soldiers Field Saturday afternoon. Princeton scored the first goal early in the regulation 60 minutes of play, and its one goal seemed destined to win the game for the Orange and Black until Salter pulled the ball out of a scrimmage near Princeton's net and tied the score with only ten minutes left to play.
After three minutes of the overtime period Gillies put a fast try past the Princeton goalie for the deciding point of the game on a pass from Morrison. Although the Tigers pierced the University's outer defense at least twice after Gillies' score, the excellent work of Kelsey, at the goal for the Crimson, prevented them from scoring.
