HANFORD RULES THAT VOTING ABSENCES MAY NOT BE TAKEN

"Absences for voting at the national election on November 6 will be excused only in the case of students whose legal residence is in states which have not authorized absentee voting" was the statement issued yesterday by A. C. Hanford, dean of Harvard College.

At the same time Dean Hanford called attention to the General Laws of Massachusetts, Chapter 54, Section 92, which state that an absentee voter within this state is one who is separated by at least two municipalities from the city or town where he is a registered voter.
