Burnett Surrenders to Grippe on Eve of Bankers Cup Battle--Olympics Keep Clark Out of Saddle at Rye

A polo tournament for the Bankers Cup will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock on the field of the Dedham Polo and Country Club in which the University and Freshman teams will compete, together with the club's own aggregation.

A new misfortune has struck the Crimson malletmen in that Captain R. B. Burnett ocC, is confined to the Stillman Infirmary with the grippe. It is not known at present whether or not he will be able to play in Saturday's match with the Freshmen for the University championship. A cup has been offered to the winner of this encounter by an anonymous graduate interested in polo.

F. A. Clark '29, who has been counted upon to appear in the Harvard lineup against Yale on June 2, will not be able to play, inasmuch as the University crew, on which Clark is now rowing No. 6, will be in training for the Olympic tryouts, scheduled for July 6.

The lineups for this afternoon will be as follows:

University No. 1, L. A. Shaw '30: No. 2, T. B. Glynn '29: No. 3, J. P. Cotton Jr. '29: back, J. P. Mandell '29.

Freshman No. 1, H. I. Nicholas '31; No. 2, E. T. Gerry '31; No. 3, E. K. Jenkins '31; back, G. O. Clark '31.

Dedham Club No. 1, Bishop: No. 2, Hopewell: No. 3, Clark: No. 4, Hamlin.
