1931 TRACK TEAM ELECTS VERNON MUNROE CAPTAIN

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Vernon Munroe Jr. '31, of New York City, was elected captain of the Freshman track team yesterday. Munroe prepared at Phillips Exeter Academy where he captained the team in his senior year. He specializes in the dashes, running the 440, 220, and 100 yard sprints in very good time.

Last spring Munroe won the quartermile in the Harvard interscholastic meet. He was, however, unable to participate in the Exeter-Andover meet last spring, because of a leg injury.

He attempted to work this lamed leg back into shape last fall with constant workouts on the cross country team, but the same injury kept him from running in the winter meets.
