Best Match of Evening Won by Nathaniel Warner '30
Three fast bouts in Hemenway Gymnasium last night featured the finals of the University wrestling tournament.
In the 115-pound class Crispin Cooke '32 upset predictions by conquering C. G. Chase '30 of the University team after a long gruelling struggle which went into two overtime periods. A. W. Kelsey 3G, and W. A. Robinson '31 put up an exciting match, and the latter's fine defense amounted to more than Kelsey's victory would indicate. The best bout of the evening was between P. N. Vonckx '31 and Nathaniel Warner '30 Vonckx, with a bad wrist, was forced to default after about six minutes, after a splendid exhibition of game wrestling, Coach Lewis refereed.
115-pound class: Crispin Cooke '22 defeated C. G. Chase '30 by referee's decision. (Two extra periods).
125-pound class: J. H. Burns '29 defeated M. de J. Manduley '31 by fall in 7 min., 5 sec.
135-pound class: H. M. Kullman 21, defeated M. Kurmitsky '30 by fall in 3 min., 35 sec.
145-pound class: C. N. Levine '30 defeated J. E. Evans '30 by time advantage of 3 min., 6 sec.
155-pound class: A. W. Kelsey 3G, defeated W. A. Robinson '31 by time advantage of 6 min., 20 sec.
165-pound class: Joseph Lifrak '29 defeated W. W. Mein '32 by decision in 4 min., 22 sec.
175-pound class: H. J. Kaufman defeated T. Norman '30 by time advantage of 8 min.
Unlimited class: Nathaniel Warner '30 defeated P. N. Vonckx '31 by default.
