Having given his squad a stiff scrimmage on Monday, Coach Arnold Horween '20 yesterday gave the first University team only a light workout confining the afternoon's work to a drill of the fundamentals.
Individual coaching, blocking and dummy tackling formed the bulk of the work for the men. There was also some line tackling with Madison Sayles '27 and E. L. Casey '19 giving most of the instructions.
Barry Wood, T. W. Gilligan, Douglas and Gleason all donned uniforms today. With Greeley out indefinitely, this leaves only F. J. Gilligan '32 and O'Connell slightly injured. They are expected to return soon.
Coach Horween is still following his policy of shifting his backfield men around, trying out all combinations possible. There will be a scrimmage today between the first and second University squads.
The teams lined up today as follows:
Team A--Burns, l.e.; Barrett, l.t.; W. Ticknor, l.g.; B. Ticknor, c.; Trainer, r.g.; Davis, r.t.; Harding, r.e., Putnam, q.b.; Harper, l.h.; Mays, r.h.; Potter, f.b.
Team B--Baldwin, l.e.; Waterman, l. t.; Ginman, l. g.; Gildea, c.; Myerson, r.g.; Levin, r.t.; Ogden, l.e.; Wetmore, q.b.; Batchelder, l.h.; Huguley, r.h.; White, f.b.
Team C--Briggs, l.e.; Upton, l.t.; Newhardt, l.g.; Cunningham, c.; Talbot, r.g.; Lewis, r.t.; Record, r.e.; Gleason, q.b.; Devens, l.h.; Mason, r.h.; Fullam, f.b.
