GOLD COAST ORCHESTRA TO HOLD TRYOUTS TODAY

Orchestra Made European Tour During Summer--To Play at Nearby Dances During Fall

The Harvard University Gold Coast Orchestra will hold tryouts this evening and tomorrow evening at 6.45 o'clock in the Music building. All members of the University are urged to come out.

The orchestra played this summer aboard the Aquatania, Mauretania and other Cunarders. They sailed June 17 on the Aquatania with the third varsity crew which was bound for the Henley races in England. Among the celebrities which the orchestra came in contact with was Professor Laski who was popular as chairman of a charity ball committee. Coming back from a cruise to Nova Scotia, the Mauretania smashed all records in a thrilling race against time.

The Gold Coast Orchestra plays at many of the nearby dances at the Copley, Wellesley and various fraternity affairs. Tentative plans have been drawn up for a Christmas trip which will include concerts at Detroit, Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans.
