Professor P. A. Sorokin, head of the new Department of Sociology, was yesterday elected a member of the Eastern Sociological Conference, at the closing session of a two-day meeting at Yale University.

Professor H. P. Fairchild of New York University was elected president, and professor J. H. S. Bossard, vice-president.
