PROTEST MEETING HELD IN FRONT OF COLLEGE LIBRARY

Speaker Suggests Closing Memorial Church To Keep Library Open

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Over 100 students attended a mass meeting held in front of the College Library at 12 o'clock on Wednesday in protest against the early closing of the Library. The meeting was adressed by I.L. Pavio '35 and W.L. Plaisted '33, leaders of the group in favor of the reopening of the Library during the evenings.

One of the speakers suggested that the University should close the new Memorial Church, as was done during the war when the old Appleton Chapel was closed to save coal, and that the money saved by this action should be used to keep the Library open during the evenings.

Plans have been made to hold several more similar meetings in the near future in the event that the Library is not reopened.
