Fifty-two officers of instruction in the University favor the election of Norman Thomas as president of the United States, it was announced yesterday by the Committee of Harvard Teachers for Norman Thomas, which has been conducting a poll of men teaching at Harvard to determine the extent of the support for the Socialist ticket.
The committee consists of G. W. All port '19, assistant professor of Psychology; A. H. Cantrill; D. W. Chapman '27; A. S. Coolidge '15, lecturer in Chemistry; W. P. Maddex; K. F. Mather, professor of Geology; G. J. Metcalf; and M. A. Shepard. Some of the other Harvard teachers supporting Thomas are: A. O. Allen; W. J. Bender '27; J. S. Bixler; R. W. Campbell; F. I. Carpenter '24; Stanley Cobb '10, Bullard professor of Neuropathology; Raphael Demos; W. A. Fowite; C. C. Green; M. I. Hanley; F. H. Harbison; P. H. Kelsey '02; T. B. Mallery '18; F. J. Mardulier; N. B. Nash '09; R. H. Phelps; T. J. Putnam '16; P. J. Gulen; J. W. Sever, assistant professor of Orthopedic Sargery's, R. L. Sharp; L. S. Stamm '28; S. A. Talbot John Velkmann '27; and J. R. Walsh.
