HOOPSTERS LOSE TO B.U. 22-19 IN FAST OPENER

Early Season Inaccuracy and Tight Defenses Cause Low Score--Huppuch And Hageman Star For Crimson

The Harvard hoopsters lost a fast hard game to a more experienced Boston University five last night in the New Athletic Building.

C. H. Hageman '33, played a hard aggressive game, carrying the ball down the court most of the time he was in the game. W. A. Huppuch '33, playing at left guard for his second successive year, was outstanding on the defensive.

The forward line had many chances, but missed many easy shots. The failure of both teams to follow up the long shots, rather than a tight defensive, accounted for the low score.

The Harvard reserves, sent in late in the first period, managed to keep the Terriers scoreless, but showed themselves noticeably weak on the defensive.

After building up a 10-9 lead in the first half, the B.U. quintet scored quickly on a close shot by Garabedian, and managed to keep the lead to the end. A basket by Hale, with only a minute to play, ended the scoring and clinched the game for the visitors. Semine, at left guard, scored four fouls.
