YALE POLOISTS TRIUMPH DESPITE HANDICAP OF 10

Outclass Harvard Riders By Score of 23 to 151/2--Both Teams Had Lost Only One Match Previously

Overcoming a handicap of 10 goals, the Yale polo team defeated the Crimson trio, 23 to 15 1-2, at New Haven Saturday. The Eli riders began to close up the lead of the University team at the beginning of the second half and continued to outride their opponents until the closing minutes.

The Crimson poloists, like their Yale rivals, entered the fray having suffered defeat but once this season. They were repeatedly outridden and outplayed, however, by the Eli horsemen. Six goals were scored by the University mallotmen, three by L. S. Dillingham '34, two by W. F. Luton '33, and one by F. S. Nicholas '33.

Baldwin, of Yale, led the Eli riders with a total of 10 goals closely follwed by Captain Mills with 8, and Phipps with 5. The Blue trio presented a consistent attack that notted five or more goals in each chukker. The Crimson malletmen were forced to play a defensive game and, therefore, their scoring was light.
