FIFTEEN TO FACE YALE TEAM THIS AFTERNOON

The University rugby team will meet the Yale fifteen today at 2.30 o'clock on Soldiers Field, in the only clash of the two teams this spring. The two Jayvee teams are slated to go on the field at 1.30 o'clock.

According to close observers of the opposing teams, the game should be a fast and even one. The Blue fifteen has only played two games thus far, barely nosing out the New York Club in one, and dropping the other to Princeton. Harvard, on the other hand, has two victories, a tie, and one loss to its credit, scoring an easy victory over the Tigers but netting only a tie with the New Yorkers.

The loss of Meiklejohn will be keenly felt by the Crimson players, as will also that of Captain Cabot and Hardy, all three men being out with leg injuries. Stars for the Eli fifteen are expected to be Captain Winter, University hockey player, Taylor, University football star, McCreary, and Heyworth. On the Harvard side Sherman and Whitney are the backs who have shown up particularly well this season, while Megaw and Wittausch have proved among the best forwards. Potter at centre has also played an excellent game.

The Eli fifteen will probably employ the forward tactics which it has already made use of this season. In this system the backs are chiefly on the defensive and leave most of the offensive work to the forwards. Harvard will employ the opposite system, relying more on its backs, and availing itself of the New Zealand system which Captain Cabot has popularized this year.

Last year the Crimson fifteen defeated Yale, 14-3, in the first game at Cambridge, but was soundly trounced by a 19-0 score when they invaded the enemy territory at New Haven. No return game will be played this season, and the Rugby Club has scheduled only two more games on the next two Saturdays, with the Irish Rugby Club of New York and with Princeton.

Today's contest should prove both speedy and interesting. No substitutions or time outs are permitted in the rules, so the physical condition of the respective teams should prove a vital factor in the final outcome
