Yale is passing through a critical period. Financial embarrassment menaces present standards and future plans. Yale needs help.

In this crisis the hows and whys of the embarrassment must be put aside in a drive to regain stability. There is no time for bickering and complaining. The important thing is that Yale standards are in danger; this danger must be removed.

Though alumni may wonder why this deficit exists and may question past, present, or future policies, they should not hesitate to help when failure to help means danger to all Yale.

However, in giving they should think-not give blindly. They should know what Yale of today is, and what Yale of tomorrow will be. It is a new and different Yale in many fundamental respects. It has changed since they were here and is still changing.

The alumni should know this new Yale as they contribute to its future. But what they may think or know will not change the issue today. That issue is that Yale needs help. Is she going to get it. Yale News.
