‘The Architect of the Whole Plan’: Harvard Law Graduate Ken Chesebro’s Path to Jan. 6
We saw President Conant playing football (touch-football we hope) with some young friends in the Yard, behind his house yesterday. Quite unsupervised by the bureaucrats of the H.A.A., Mr. Conant was enjoying himself hugely, and proving somehow that Harvard indifference is a thing of the past.

We forgot to mention last time the amazing adventures of Dean Hanford as Fire-Chief. The Dean was walking along Massachusetts Avenue several days ago, when he was stopped in his tracks by the sight of an automobile in flames, in front of Leavitt and Peirce's, with a panicky woman-driver attendant. After watching the merry flames a while the Dean rushed into the Smoke Shop, and dashed out "in all directions," as Leacock puts it, with a fire extinguisher. After the Dean had doused all the innocent bystanders with his chemical contraption, some fine fellow came along and saved the burning car. Professor Hanford then cooly retreated, not a little stained with fire-fighting fluid.

It seems that two of the Under-secretaries for Ticket Distribution at the H. A. A., when they finish their day of removing undergraduate dollars for the H.A.A. Buy Now policy, run off to the Somerset and become ticket takers at all the big deb dances. This is undoubtedly queer. We are not quite sure what it signifies, but undoubtedly H.A.A. Books will someday admit Harvard boys to Somerset Dances; stadium ushers and Brattle Hall ushers will be an overlapping directorate; season tickets will insure you the best of the Boston Season; and the Vincent and Varsity Clubs will engage in a merger. This little gesture of the H.A.A. secretariat calls up countless images, which we will save for later.

Some time ago there was a little notice on the Sever Hall Bulletin Boards, somewhere between the DeMolay Masons and the Ford Hall Forum broadsides which read somewhat as follows:
"Student in German A, Section 3, living at home, would like someone to study with him three nights a week, as he does not like to study all alone." This shy student has removed the notice, probably has found a companion. We suggest marriage as the only way out.
