TWO 1936 BASEBALL TEAMS WIN FROM B.U., WATERTOWN

First Team Takes 18-7 Victory, Second Keeps Clean Slate With 5-4 Win

The Freshman baseball team met defeat at the hands of Boston University Freshmen 18 to 7, while the second team kept its own slate clean by defeating Watertown High by a 5 to 4 margin yesterday.

The first team was outfit 16 to 10 and was slow to get a start in the game. In the second inning B.U., after two outs massed four runs, and followed up with three more two innings later. Hovenanian starred for Harvard at the plate by getting three hits out of five times at bat. Woods played a stellar game in the field. Three Crimson pitchers failed to fame the B.U., bats, Croke making a home run for the opponents.

Watertown High was held to five hits in a ten-inning game by Tiffmann, so the Second Freshmen retained its closer slate. Harvard was three runs behind in the sixth, but tied up the score in the eighth and went into the tenth to win in this inning, a base on balls, a steal and a single resulted in the final talk.
