Edward M. Rowe '27, Director of Debating, announced a drastic change in the debating policy yesterday. The trials for all coming debates, including that with Yale, will be held next Thursday, January 11. There will be special trials for the Yale debate later, but to qualify for these it is absolutely necessary for the candidate to participate in the trials Thursday.

A tentative schedule for the rest of the season was also announced yesterday. On February 11 a debate will be held with the University of Pennsylvania on the subject: Resolved: that the leisure time under our economic system is detrimental to our society and civilization. Harvard will uphold the affirmative of this topic. Other debates this winter will be held with Providence, Holy Cross, and Smith Colleges.
