WAITRESS WANTS FAIR PLAY FOR UNION HELP

Admitting that she had no complaint against the Harvard Freshmen, Catherine Warner, ex-Union waitress, assailed the harsh disciplinary conditions in the Freshman dining hall in a statement to the CRIMSON last night. The bombastic reports which have been appearing in the Daily Record were over-emphasized, she asserted, but maintained that they were based on facts, although she had not believed that they would be taken so seriously.

"The only reason I'm mixing myself up in this is that I want to get something done about the way the girls are treated over at the Union," Miss Warner declared. "I know they have to have discipline, but they could still be decent. Oh, the captains are swell to your face, but they go around and squeal to Miss Murray when your back is turned."

The former waitress, whose daily articles in the Record have caused a stir in dining hall circles, denied that she had any real grievances against the Freshmen. She said, "All that stuff about the Harvard boys was written in fun. They aren't any different from any other people. There were a lot that were nice, and some that weren't. I haven't got any complaint with the boys."

Miss Warner emphatically declared that she wouldn't go back to that place if she had to starve first, She said. "Why, when we were sick we got a bawling out that made us afraid of losing our jobs. We couldn't talk, smile, wear sheer stockings, or go upstairs during the dining hours."
