Varsity Netmen Blank Brown As They Continue on Streak

Freshmen Are Drubbed by Andover 6-3; J.V.'s Take Close One from Exeter

Blanking Brown 9-0, for its second shut-out victory in a row, the Varsity tennis team ran its string of consecutive triumphs up to five straight at Providence yesterday. Although the Crimson Players were minus the services of Sandy Davenport '34, Frank W. Jones, Jr. '35, filling in at number one in his place, handled the situation admirably by defeating the Bruin's star, Chase, in a long match 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Completely outclassed in both the singles and doubles matches, the Freshman tennis team was toppled from its undefeated pinnacle yesterday, when the Andover team drubbed them 6-3. Jimmy Fuld, Freshman star, received a severe jolt, as Foreman of Andover unexpectedly snapped his growing undefeated streak, 6-4, 6-4.

Pulling their matches out of the fire, by winning the final and deciding doubles match, the Junior Varsity tennis team nosed out a fighting Exeter team yesterday afternoon 5-4, for their third straight victory in that many starts.
