Porennially the problem of the Harvard Liberal Club bobs up, and perennially the problem of what its newest policy will be comes to the fore. In the past internal dissension has usually been the rule, born of the antagonism of careerists and the more conservative members, but this year the prospects of the club, as set forth in its statement of policy appear much more promising. Aside from continuing the policy of last year's more forward-looking members in respect to providing interesting and authoritative speakers on all phases of government and politics it is also providing opportunity for more active participation by members by encouraging them to interview local candidates for office municipal state, and national.

This system promises to add new zest to the usual continue of undergraduate governmental enquiry, more or less stereotyped by its very nature. Now, however the introduction of the personal element will provide intriguing possibilities of dissection a candidate's personality and character as well as his political ideas. One criticism of this new feature of the Liberal Club's policy appears. Unfortunately in publishing these interviews, no conclusions are to be drawn; the reader is to be left to draw his own inferences from the facts. Though this may be partly necessary to maintain an impartial attitude, it does not seem inevitable. Both candidate, club member, and undergraduate would be better for a frank evaluation by an organization with no votes and no political fences to tend. Nevertheless, the important thing is that the Liberal Club has brought forth a new feature which promises greatly to add to its usefulness to the college as well as to its members.
