Far surpassing all predictions, the Varsity mermen put up a stiff fight against a highly favored Yale team last night in the Indoor Athletic Building and went down to defeat by the close score of 33-38.
On the first half of the double-header program, the Freshmen downed their Eli rivals decisively, 41-30. In every event but one a new dual record was set, and three Freshman marks fell.
In the Varsity meet Cunningham of Yale set a new high mark for the dive to break the dual record, while the Crimson captain, Roy Wallace, equaled the dual meet record by winning the 100-yard free style event.

150-yard back stroke swim--Won by Richard T. Fisher, Jr. '36 (H); second, Mittendorf (Y); third, Eastman (Y). Time--1:42.6 minutes.
200-yard free style swim--Won by M. Victor Leventritt '35 (H); second, Brown Bertram S. Wolfson '37 (H). Time--2:35.8 minutes.
