Because University Hall is tried of worrying about Christmas vacation dates, the holiday next year will be for an even two weeks. In the past the dates have been set arbitrarily so that a total of ten days was allowed. Sometimes this involved remaining in Cambridge over a weekend for a few classes Monday and Tuesday or returning Thursday night for a single class Friday. In any case the uncertainty and resulting inconvenience to those who manipulate the administrative machinery in University Hall has at last resulted in the announcement by the Corporation that vacation will hereafter start on the Sunday preceding Christmas and last for two straight weeks except in those years when Christmas falls on Sunday or Monday. In this case the recess will begin Thursday.
