Bart J. Bok, Instructor in Astronomy, has just returned from a speaking tour at several girls' colleges. He finds that the girls at Mt. Holyoke are much more sedate than those at Vassar. Personally he prefers the less sober atmosphere at Vassar, which was founded by a beer baron.

A certain student ably upheld Harvard's scholastic tradition on the radio at the Hayden Planetarium this last weekend. Asked what the common ingredients of glass were, he replied. "Silicon Dioxide!" The radio-interviewer in the quiz was so impressed with this sign of crudition that he awarded the Harvard man the prize, although the correct answer was and soda, and time.
