PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW IS SET FOR APRIL 16

Salon Class Open to All Members of University; Pictures Must Be in by April 14

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Plans for a college photography exhibition to be held for the week beginning April 16 were announced today by Jameson L. Chassin '41, President of the Photography Club. The exhibit is being sponsored jointly by the Club and the Freshman Union Committee.

Three Exhibition Groups

Photographs entered will be divided into three classes, all of which will be displayed in the Lower Common Room of the Union. Class one, the Salon Class, will consist of enlargements of 8 by 10 or more, which must be mounted.

This class is open to all members of the University, including the Faculty. A five dollar prize will be awarded the best Freshman picture in this group by the Union Committee.

Redbook Offers Prizes

In the second class, which is restricted to Freshman entries, the Freshman Redbook Committee is offering two dollars specie for a limited number of photos which are most suitable for use in the Redbook. The pictures in this class must have Yardling activities as subjects.

The Miscellaneous class, or Class three, is likewise restricted to Yardling entries. The photographs may deal with the subject, with no size requirements for the prints. First prize, donated by the Union Committee, is three dollars, with a second prize of two dollars.

Ribbons to Outstanding Entries

Ribbons will go to the outstanding entries in the Salon class. The Committee of Awards will consist of three men, two faculty members and a Boston photographer.

Entries may be handed in immediately to Emanuel G. Weiss '41 at Wigglesworth C-22. The deadline for pictures in all classes is April 14, two days before the opening of the exhibition is scheduled.
