MORISON GROUP IN AZORES

Columbus Expedition Will Continue Trip Despite War.

The Harvard Columbus Expedition to retrace the voyages of Christopher Columbus will continue its scheduled itinerary despite the European War, according to word received from Samuel E. Morison '08, professor of History and head of the expedition, today. The destinations of the expedition are in neutral countries.

Now exploring Columbian sites in the Azores, the expedition plans to backtrack Columbus to Portugal and Spain, and thence back across the Atlantic again to Central America, ending about February 1, 1940. Professor Morison's group is resailing the routes of Columbus in order to make a definite estimate of the explorer as a seaman.
