The Harvard Dramatic Club announced that William G. Manson '41 will have the leading role in the American premiere of the verse play, "The Family Reunion" by T. S. Eliot '10, to be presented November 8 and 9 in Sanders Theatre.
Supporting Manson are Earl Montgomery '43, Henry Munroe '43, John Turner, Marshall Durgin '44 and Michael Miller '44. The feminine parts will be filled by Florence Brown, Mary Farmer, Mimi Fownes, and Priscilla Freeman of Erskine School, Dardy Christie of Garland, and Ruth Oncley
Manson plays the part of Lord Monchensy who, because he has murdered his wife, is pursued throughout the play by the Eumenides, or Greek furies. The story revolves around the classic theme of a family curse, and has a contemporary English setting.
Rehearsals are being held every day in Phillips Brooks House under the direction of Roger Sheppard ocC. and A. George Rock '41. A tea will be held Wednesday afternoon by the Club in Lowell House for Flora Robson who is opening in Boston Monday in "Ladies in Retirement."
