BRADLEY'S BAND TO PLAY FOR JUBILEE

HELD IN UNION

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Will Bradley and his fourteen piece orchestra, "the outstanding new band of 1940" according to Metronome magazine, will provide the music for this year's Freshman Jubilee, David A. Goldthwait '43, Chairman of the Jubilee Committee, announced yesterday.

Friday, May 17 has been chosen as the date for the Yardlings' annual spring dance, which will be held this year at the Union instead of Memorial Hall, whose funereal examination atmosphere was concealed last year by ribbons for the festive occasion.

Metronome, which deals exclusively with "modern music and its makers." featured Bradley's outfit in it April number, stating that the recently formed organization combines a rookies fire with a veteran's poise, resulting in a "freshness and crispness found in practically no veteran groups."

Bradley, according to Glenn Miller the country's number one all-around trombonist, and Ray McKinley, drummer extraordinary, head the organization which later this month come to Boston's Raymor after a long sojourn at New York's well-known "Famous Door."
