LONDON TUESDAY Seemingly endless streams of German raiders dumped thousand of incendiary and high explosive bombs on a town in southwest England in an hours-long attack last night and early today causing widespread damage and apparently heavy casualties.

An observer said the town under a all of fire double, very quickly became a spectacle "like a grotesque dairyland."
