The weather man smiled on the University tennis tournament yesterday with the result that six more men have reached the round of sixteen.
Hugh Hyde, Dick Sorlien, Howie Ezell, Lin Burton, Russ Ellis, and Orme Wilson turned the trick with easy wins.
Without doubt the most spectacular match of the day was Hugh Hyde's straight set victory over last year's runner-up, Bart Harvey. The first set was very close as both players attempted to force the other into error, with Hyde squeezing out ahead, 7-5. The next set was a breeze for the tall Sophomore as he won 6-0.
The other matches were equally one-sided with Ezell defeating Baker 6-2, 6-0; Burton beating Carter 7-5, 6-3; Ellis crushing Greenspan 6-3. 6-2; Wilson defeating Hafner 6-2, 6-2; and Sorlien winning by default.
