Harvard Hospital Unit Completed in England

After months of building and long hours of preparation the Harvard Red Green Hospital in Salisbury, England. Alblon's own "Little America," has finally-settled down to routine life with, all possible comforts of home, according to a letter received from Dr. John E. Gordon of the Medical School, one of the group of 75 doctors, nurses, and technicians operating the unit.

"There is still much to remind us of the days when we went from one building to another through dust and mud instead of on walks; when hurrying secretaries carried messages because there was only one telephone; of no electric lights in the dormitories. But now the Hospital is open and receiving patients and last Friday morning Dr. Gordon, Dr. Beeson, Dr. Scott, and Dr. Hawley made rounds for the first time," writes Dr. Gordon.

With American food, plumbing, friends, and slang, the staff confounds the staid Englishman who still considers his American cousins a little queer.

A recently established canteen sells American cigarettes and will later handle American made female necessities such as Kleenex and bobble pins to make life for the nurses a little more bearable white in the "old country."
