Preliminary to the varsity game last night,, the '44 basketballers suffered their second defeat of the season when they lost to a powerful Boston University Freshman quintet. Although they led the Terriers throughout the first half, they were beaten decisively in the second.
Captain Bunks Burditt was again high-scorer for the Yardlings with 13 points to his credit, followed closely by Jack Torgan with 10 and Ed Hadley with 8. Top man for B.U. was Don Giles with 14 while Bill Madden totaled 11. The loss of Don Lutze early in the second half because of fouls weakened the team appreciably.
