YALE FRESHMEN DEFEAT YARDLING FIVE 49 to 33

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Skip Stahley's Yardling hoopmen ran into a sharp-shooting Yale cub outfit in the Indoor Athletic Building preliminary Saturday night and came out on the short end of a 49 to 33 count. The giant Elis, led by a stubby guard named Kearney, shot the Crimson five dizzy in the first half and were able to coast to victory in the second.

The Yardlings were on the short side of a 29 to 9 score at the intermission but came back with a rush. They cut their deficit in half and trailed by only 34 to 25 at one point. Suddenly the attack paced by Captain Bunks Burditt and Don Lutz came to a halt, and Yale pulled away swiftly.
