A course in Aerial Mapping, not limited to Harvard students, will be given without charge at the Institute of Geographical Exploration by Col. J.W. Bagley as part of the program of Engineering Science and Management Defense Training Courses sponsored by the U.S. Office of Education.
The purpose of the course is to give training in obtaining, interpreting and employing aerial photographs for mapping and general surveying.
Requirements for admission are three years of an engineering school course of study, or its equivalent, including mathematics through trigonometry, solid and analytic geometry.
There will be three one-hour classes at 2 o'clock Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and seven hours of combined laboratory and field work per week, including a few flights for aerial photography.
Instruction will start September 29 and continue for 16 weeks.
