Widener Reserves Space for Civilian Defense Material

Set up on the urgent request of the American Defense-Harvard group, R. H. Haynes, '22, assistant librarian, has instituted a special War Shelf in the Widener Library, located to the left of the Periodical Room.

For the military-minded there are to be found the manuals of most of the armed services of the nation. Possibly some hint of forthcoming military operations can be gleaned from their pages, while for those less technically minded there are books on the more colorful aspects of the war, and Civilian Defense.

This shelf will be continued for as long as there is a demand for it.
