400 Applicants Mob House Football Field

310 Uniforms Have Been Issued So Far

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Whether it's compulsory exercise, a desire to get in tip-top shape for action with the armed services, or just plain football enthusiasm, Adolph Samborski 26, director of House athletics, doesn't know; but he does know that many more men have reported for House football than he has uniform for.

There hundred and ten uniforms have been issued, but 50 to 100 candidates had to be turned down and Samborski is afraid that he may have to limit the number of men that can report for a House Squad.

Get Calisthenics

During the last two afternoons, the candidates have first gone through calisthenic drills, later reporting to different coaches for work in either line, end, or backfield tactics.

The eight coaches selected mainly from the graduate schools but with one from the Navy Supply School and one from the College, have not as yet been assigned to specific House teams. On next Monday, though, they will take charge of individual teams and start sizing up their available talent and working on offense and defense.

Samborski has announced that the game schedule will begin on October 15, about two weeks ways. Most of the House managers are very confident of making a good showing in the league with their high hopes inspired by the large turnout and with compulsory exercises making sure that the turnout is more regular than could be expected in past years.
