Drucker Leads Team To Year's First Meet

Despite great optimism down the river, swimming coach Hal Ulen does not expect any more trouble than usual from the Tech tankmen in the Varsity meet this evening at 8:30 o'clock in the M. I. T. pool.

Captain Bill Drucker will head a semi-veteran squad in its first meet of the year. In addition to his strength in the backstroke, the Crimson figures to be strong in the sprints, where Johnny Eusden holds forth, and in the quarter-mile, boasting veterans Dave Barnes and George Christman. Barnes and Christman also swim in the 220.

With Drucker on the 300-yard medley team are Bus Curwen and Freshman Perry Stearns Curwen is a possible starter in the breaststroke, while Stearns will team up with Eusden in the 100.

In the dive, veteran Bill Hewes and Sophomore Harvey Pastel are both potential winners. Two Freshmen, Bob Aaron and Don Ulen, the coach's son, ane slated to swim the breaststroke event.
