Today is the last opportunity for all men born between July 1 and August 31, 1942 to register for the draft, officials of the local draft board in P.B.H. emphasized yesterday.
Although no complete figures are as yet available, the board stated that it was not true here, as it was in many parts of Boston, that only a small minority of those expected had actually appeared. However, there are still many students who have not enrolled.
Men born between September 1 and October 31 must register next week while the end of the year will be the deadline for those whose birthdays fall in November or December. After that time, men will register on their 18th birthday.
Registration with the local draft does not irrevocably classify a student in Cambridge, an official said, for if students list their own draft boards on the application the blanks will be referred there.
