Hectic Basketball Rivalry Ends as Conlin Sinks Foul

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

House basketball's most intensive rivalry ended yesterday afternoon when Jack (Dead Eye) Eberle of Kirkland House nosed out his teammate. "Affable Alf" Conlin by 1 point in their race for individual scoring honors.

The race began two years ago, and at the beginning of this season, the boys were deadlocked with the same scores.

"Affable Alf" Conflin finally jumped into the lead in the Dunster game on a foul shot. But teammate "Dead Eye" Elberle stood over the black line under the basket, so the point was cancelled.

Then "Dead Eye" went on to score a foul shot and take the lead himself. Conlin's last chance came yesterday in the Lowell game, but "Affable Alf" was too nervous, missing all three foul shots. The three year rivalry ended in victory for Eberle, one point to nothing.
